Our Charity Work
How your old spectacles can help improve the lives of children and adults in third world countries
Any old well loved spectacles would be appreciated by ourselves to go towards new U.V protected ophthalmic and sunglass spectacle frames, which we will personally send overseas to schools, hospitals, orphanages, villages or any community you might know of, that would benefit from a donation of new eyewear for children and adults.
How it works
We have recently set up our own vintage eyewear collection using selectively donated frames which have been sterilized and ultrasonically cleaned, had nose pads and screws replaced for new ones to create a unique “one off” pair of vintage frames ready for prescription lenses, colour tinted, or classic sunglass shades.
They have no selling price, we just ask for a donation towards the purchase of a new frame from “Sight Care“. We then have them glazed to assorted powers and U.V. protection by Vanalstynes glazing laboratory.
The parcels are sent first class to personally chosen destinations and feed back is reported on our web site.
Both Sight Care and Vanalstynes have been extremely supportive of our cause, for which we thank you!
