Childrens Eye Examinations
An eye examination is an essential health check. It can help detect eye diseases before a child has noticed any change in their sight. It can help identify other health problems, like diabetes, before a child has any other symptoms. Most importantly it can ensure that children and young people are able to see properly, so that they can fulfil their potential and get the most from school, activities, learning and friendships.
The National Health Service will cover a childs eye examination to the age of 18 (in full time education). Being a private practice we are able to offer an Optomap Scan which is recommended for children from the age of 7 and repeated every four years. It is an optional extra and a charge of £22.50 is applied.
